The Needle of Mount Patria.<\/p><p>It is hidden in the massif of Mount Patria in the High Tatras. It rises to heaven, a lonely rocky tower in a forgotten rocky town.<\/p><p>On the 9th September 1929, she climbed, together with Alexander \u0160karvan, to this unique needle of Mount Patria, later named for here, Vlasta\u00b4s tower.<\/p><p>Vlasta \u0160t\u00e1flov\u00e1, the female Czech mountaineer and writer, climbed it for the first time, together with Karel \u010cabelka and Jan \u0160abata, on the 9th July 1935.<\/p><p><strong>\u201eIt is the most beautiful place in the world,\u201c,<\/strong> she said, as she rented a chalet at the Popradsk\u00e9 pleso mountain lake, together with her husband, Otakar \u0160t\u00e1fl, the famous Czech painter.<\/p><p>The Belianske Tatras are situated parallel with the High Tatras comb in the east-western direction. They almost have not been influenced by glacier activity. We will not find here any moraines, rocky thresholds, terraces and huge crotches that are all so characteristic for the neighbouring mountains. On the other hand, you will be certainly impressed by <strong>limestone and dolomite walls with steep slopes covered by grass and rich vegetation<\/strong>. <strong>The beauty of this mountains is attractive<\/strong>. <strong>They are mystic. They have many secrets<\/strong>. Many peaks in this area are not accessible for tourists. We can only <strong>guess what is hidden on the summits above the cloudes<\/strong>.<\/p><p>And we will visit this amazing faraway region! This area is deemed to be <strong>the most beautiful and naturally the richest part of the Tatras region<\/strong>. The land is rich on calc as well as vegetation. <strong>Local shepherds from the 14th century were probably the very first visitors of these beautiful mountains<\/strong>. Wooden coal was burned and coppers as well as other metallic ores were mined here in the 17th century.<\/p><p>We will hike through a\u00a0charming valley with a\u00a0burbling stream, we will admire the peaks, <strong>we will take the starway to heaven. And we will feel like in heaven!<\/strong><\/p><p>And later, while relaxing and watching the sun set, switching places with the moon and stars, we will believe the beauty of mountains is in their impregnability.<\/p><p>We will keep in mind, each way is a new goal, and <strong>when mountains are calling, we must go<\/strong>.<\/p><p>And exactly here, on this <strong>magical place, you will find with the main High Tatras comb in the east-western direction. The both geologically different mountain-combs touch together at the Kopsk\u00e9 Saddle. The Belianske Tatras almost have not been influenced by glacier activity. We will not find here any moraines, rocky thresholds, terraces and huge crotches that are all so characteristic for the neighboring mountain-comb. On the other hand, you will be certainly impressed by limestone and dolomite walls with steep slopes covered by grass and rich vegetation. \u017ddiarska Vidla is the most dominant peak in the western part of the main comb (to the \u0160irok\u00e9 Saddle). The Havran peak (2,151 m) is the highest peak in the Belianske Tatras. Unfortunately, like other peaks in this area, it is not accessible for tourists. Belianske Tatras is a natural carst area. You can find there a large number of caves, but not accessible for tourists. Belianska Cave situated above the settlement Tatransk\u00e1 Kotlina (Tatransk\u00e1 Basin), is the only cave open for public. From the settlement you can easily get to the chalet Plesnivec (1,290 m), the only chalet in the Belianske Tatras.
